6. Travel through the Southwest of Spain
October 15 to 18, 2021On this trip I traveled through part of the southwest of Spain, starting with the towns in the southwest of Extremadura such as the towns of the region of La Serena, arriving at Zafra, Important city for cattle fairs since the Middle Ages. I would go down through the southern towns that straddle Extremadura and Andalusia, such as Fregenal de la Sierra and Jerez de los Caballeros to reach the province of Huelva.
In Huelva I would visit Almonaster La Real, included in the most beautiful villages in Spain. I would stay in Palos de la Frontera, where I would see the Rábida Monastery, famous for being from where the conquest of America took place, and the caravel dock with a museum, an interpretation center of the Columbus's voyages and the replicas of the three caravels, the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa María.
Likewise, I would visit Mazagón beach, where the Doñana National Park is, one of the most beautiful and highly recommended natural beaches in Spain. I would continue visiting the most Andalusian, traditional and folkloric towns in the area such as El Rocío, Almonte and I would visit other more historic towns such as Moguer and Niebla.
Finally, I would visit Huelva on the last day before returning to Toledo.
