15. Travel through the southwest of Castilla y León
May 21, 2022 to July 2023On this trip I toured the south of the autonomous community of Castilla y León. Includes the provinces of Segovia, Ávila and Salamanca. I would visit the interesting towns of Segovia that remained after my trip through the center of Castilla y León (Trip 9), where I would show the capital of the province. This time I would visit it again but on the other side of the river, seeing the Parral Monastery and the Vera Cruz Church of the Order of Malta. Segovia is one of the most monumental towns in all of Castilla y León, being one of the three that are World Heritage Sites, and it entails a two-day visit to fully understand the entire monumental part and its history. Of the towns visited on this trip, Turégano and Sotosalbos stand out, and from there I would head towards the province of Ávila.
In the province of Ávila, both the capital and the southern part of the Sierra de Gredos, one of the jewels of the province, I would have already visited it on some past trips leaving the review on this trip. The towns of Arévalo and Barco de Ávila stand out. To say that the capital deserves at least one day of visit.
Lastly, I would visit the northern part of Salamanca, having visited the southwest on Trip 4, where I saw towns as beautiful as Béjar, La Alberca or Mogarraz, as well as the second most important and monumental city in the province. , Rodrigo City. On this occasion I would see the capital, Salamanca, which is well worth a full day visit at least and the towns to the southeast, close to the natural park of Las Batuecas and the western part that borders the Duero river where there is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Salamanca, with large waterfalls, holm oaks and mountains, missing on this trip the natural part of the Arribas del Duero.
