Former aboriginal settlement that after the Canarian conquest was transformed into another town. From the aboriginal era, only the archaeological remains obtained today remain in La Atalaya, the Cueva de los Canarios and in the Guiniguada valley. The neighborhood of La Atalaya is a place of great interest for having lived in it until the beginning of the last century an aboriginal town. Nowadays, many rehabilitated houses excavated in caves are preserved. We can highlight its handmade ceramics, both inherited from the aborigines as exclusive innovations that preserve the techniques of yesteryear. The Locero Center and the Casa-Alfar Panchito Ecomuseum are worthy of a visit, both in La Atalaya.
