Beginning internship

At the end of February I finished all the subjects related to the specialty and began to do the internships in one of the most important centers of the capital, the IES Rincon, which is home to IES Mesa and Lopez, a large number of students from the north of the capital. The rest of the HEIs are dispersed in different points, with one large one per neighborhood and they converge in the Obelisco neighborhood next to the Faculty of Education where 4 institutes are located, with Perez Galdos being the most outstanding of them all.

In the IES Mesa and Lopez I was doing some project related to the teaching of technology and I have to say that I really liked the dynamics of the center, the organization and the cleanliness. Being a somewhat old building with a limited resource capacity but that has a good team that makes it work excellently.

The IES Rincon is in a more problematic neighborhood than the Mesa y López but the teachers have a lot of motivation to teach the classes that make their defects their virtues. Since the great multiculturalism and the socioeconomic diversity that it finds makes certain students try harder to achieve better results and avoid falling into the mistakes of their parents.


In my case I was in Proffesional Formation in the area of computer science and networks , where I found a very motivated student body to learn, especially in the middle and upper school and especially in the Middle. Large number of students who could not finish ESO but who were learning little by little to find a place in the work environment. I met students who could locate more in the university than in an institute, doing research projects on new technologies, focused on the programming of objects or computer security or making applications for mobile terminals.

In the following images I show different works of the IES Rincon where you can see the ability of the students of the institute, from the earliest courses of the ESO to bachelor.

In these times I was attended by one of the best physiotherapists in the Canary Islands, located in the neighborhood of the island. His name is Marcelino and is known throughout the neighborhood along with his partner Aday. They were difficult moments when I felt accompanied by their care. With prices quite affordable compared to what many of the physios ask, since the economic reality of the inhabitants of Las Palmas is not very alagüeña. Counting on a modest study of physiotherapy that thanks to his continued work for several years has been able to transform into a much larger center, located parallel to Juan Rejon street.

Enjoying Las Palmas

Once made the practices and already recovered from the injuries I was returning to the sporting activity. Which only going to the beach of las Canteras and surroundings can be done without the need of gyms. On the beach you can perform activities such as swimming, surfing, canoeing, athletics, soccer, volleyball, tennis, pilates and yoga (especially at sunset with the sunset). In Las Palmas there are numerous gyms and sports centers where the gym GOFIT managed by the town hall, gymnasiums of shopping centers such as 7 Palmas, the Whale and the Las Arenas shopping center at the end of the promenade stand out.

International competitions are held very often, such as this year when the Triathlon was held. There are also numerous surfing championships at the CICER, at the bottom of the quarries, next to the auditorium.
It also has the Royal Sports Pier, where many sailors train and many Olympic medalists have come out. Near there, on the beach of Alcaravaneras there are kayak clubs and also beach volleyball, often held championships both locally and nationally.
I was in the TESA FITNESS gym where I had a very good instructor of gymnastics, Pilates and TRX.

At the beach level it has four beaches, the Laja, to the south, the Alcaravaneras beach, next to the sports marina and in front of the port, the confital, on the islet, a neighborhood northwest of the capital, and Las Canteras, the larger, which can be divided parts, separated by a rocky formation of the sea, called Las Tablas.

Otras playas en Gran Canaria, bastante turísticas son la playa del Ingles y Maspalomas, y las numerosas playas que se encuentran entre esta última y Mogán, región y ciudad al sudoeste de la isla. Estas playas estan plagadas de extranjeros todo el año, siendo predominantes los ingleses y alemanes.
